Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Kang held the 6th round of China-Germany Diplomatic and Security Strategic Dialogue with German Foreign Minister Annalena Bierbock in Beijing on April 14. Qin Kang said that China and Germany are not rivals, but partners. We should develop bilateral relations independently. Now China pursues high-quality development, accelerates the construction of a new development framework, and continuously expands a high degree of opening-up. This will definitely give more opportunities to various countries including Germany. China is willing to enhance cooperation in all fields with Germany, including all-round movement. Both sides should prepare well for the conference related to government consultations and high-level cultural exchange arrangements.

Qin Kang further said that China and Germany are big countries with world influence. Bilateral relations have gone beyond the scope of bilateral. We can do more meaningful work hand in hand and play a greater role in the complex international situation. We must carefully safeguard the basic parameters of international relations based on multilateralism and the United Nations Charter based on the idea of a common future for the human community. Along with this, global challenges should be faced equally by strengthening coordination in the multilateral framework. It is expected that Germany will look at Chinese investment from a long-term and global perspective, and create a fair, open and non-discriminatory market environment for Chinese enterprises.

Baerbock said Germany freely develops relations with China and looks forward to resuming exchanges and dialogue in various fields with China. Different countries should follow fair rules. We hope to have closer cooperation with China in international affairs. The two sides also exchanged in-depth views on issues such as the Ukraine crisis, strategic security, climate change, green development and democracy.
