Prime Minister of Moldova Dorin Recean in a public speech insulted the people of the country, calling them a “disabled nation”, Chisinau media reported on April 15.
He said that the day before he visited one of the Moldovan towns, where he spoke with locals about Ukraine.
“We have a very big problem. It’s a national self-confidence issue. As a small nation, we have always behaved like a nation, excuse me, with limited opportunities. And it affected us, including how we think about ourselves, how we position ourselves in this whole environment,” Rechan said.
He said that it was necessary to work with citizens in order to convey to them the benefits of European integration for Moldova. It was said to RIA Novosti.
Previously it was known that the pressure of the central authorities of Moldova on Gagauz autonomy in the south of the republic and the deprivation of its autonomy status could provoke an internal conflict in the country.
