Founded in 1995, Remedy Entertainment hasn’t changed or updated the logo since 1999, when a dispute with LucasArts forced the company to “speed up” the process of finding a better one for its needs, and is found with the iconic “R” and the ball. The bullet represented the Max Payne era, but over the next few years Remedy developed Alan Wake, Quantum Break and Control, so the old logo no longer adequately represented the work and ambition of the studio.

Remedy Entertainment Director of Communications Thomas Puha said:
“It’s time to update and redefine our visual style to give it more consistency, show our evolution over the years and better express our vision of Remedy today. The Remedy logo means a lot to us, but we know it means a lot to you too. Like the games we make at Remedy, we approached this process with great care, attention, and passion! We want to create memorable worlds, stories and characters for you to experience in our games. We wanted our new logo to reflect how we are constantly evolving and continuing to create exciting games with the best people. It is still a remedy, however, where bold creativity thrives. We hope you enjoy our new look.”
In its fourth quarter 2022 financial report, the studio said development on Alan Wake 2 was nearly complete and “playable from start to finish”. Pooh has confirmed that the release window is late 2023.
