Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

The African Union calls on the warring parties in Sudan to stop the bloodbaths

Today, Saturday, the African Union Commission called on the warring parties in Sudan to stop the bloodshed, the destruction of the country and the terrorization of civilians, as it described it.

The Chairman of the African Union Commission, Musa Faki Mahamat, said: We call on the international community to unite its efforts to force the parties to the conflict in Sudan to stop the fighting.

This came against the background of the violent clashes that erupted today in Sudan due to disagreements between the Sudanese army, led by Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and his deputy, the commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo (Hamdati).

The capital, Khartoum, and several Sudanese cities are witnessing violent clashes between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, as the army closed the bridges and roads leading to the presidential palace in central Khartoum with heavy armor, and deployed artillery and armored vehicles in the city of Omdurman.
