The Cooperation Council expresses its grave concern over the developments in the situation in Sudan

The General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf expressed its deep concern over the developments in the situation in the Republic of Sudan. The General Secretariat called in a statement today " All parties call for calm and restraint, giving priority to the language of dialogue, the voice of wisdom, and uniting the ranks in a way that contributes to completing the consensus that has been achieved under the framework agreement aimed at reaching a political declaration by which political stability, economic recovery and prosperity for Sudan and its people will be achieved, and civilians will spare the consequences of fighting.". Mr. Jassim Muhammad Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, stressed the firm positions and decisions of the Cooperation Council regarding the importance of preserving Sudan’s security, safety and stability, preserving the cohesion of the state and its institutions, supporting Sudan in facing economic challenges, and achieving the aspirations of its brotherly people. In this regard, the Secretary-General commended the efforts made to reach a consensus among the political forces, end the crisis and achieve security and stability in Sudan. The Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf appealed to all the conflicting parties to resort to dialogue and peaceful ways to overcome differences to enhance the security and stability of Sudan, and to achieve the aspirations of its people.
