The Sudanese army confirmed that its forces are currently confronting the Rapid Support Forces, which are pushing their forces from their bases scattered throughout the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, in attempts to control strategic sites, including the Republican Palace, the General Command, and the headquarters of Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council.
The General Command of the Sudanese Armed Forces, in a statement issued today, called on citizens to stay away from the confrontation areas and not to shelter those they named "Fugitives", indicating that it deals with the events with deterrent decisiveness to restore security and stability to the country. The statement added that the armed forces are making great progress and will resolve the situation "within a short time".
The Sudanese army announced earlier today the intervention of the Air Force in "quality operations" To contain the movements of the Rapid Support Forces, explaining that the warplanes entered the stage of decisive dealing with all the headquarters of the Rapid Support Forces in Khartoum and the rest of the states of Sudan using advanced weapons, as vital headquarters of the forces were controlled and the headquarters they seized were restored.
This comes after the sports city area in the state of Khartoum and the city of Marawi in northern Sudan witnessed military clashes between the armed forces and the Rapid Support Forces, in which explosions were heard, an exchange of gunfire and columns of smoke rising, while the sky of Khartoum witnessed intense sorties of air force planes.
