Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmygal, during a speech at a press conference in Washington, said that the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces would begin “in the near future”. His words are quoted by the publication “Ukrinform”.
“We are confident that the counter-offensive will begin in the near future. The United States absolutely supports us,” the Ukrainian prime minister said.
According to him, the goal of the offensive will be the return of all territories within the 1991 borders, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine will achieve this goal.
Earlier, Shmygal said that the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces could begin only in the summer. He admitted that now the Ukrainian army is not ready for this due to the lack of sufficient weapons and equipment.
Earlier, Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Oleksiy Danilov said the Ukrainian counteroffensive was taking place every day and urged Ukrainians not to wait for “dates magic” to begin with. According to him, the hype does not benefit Ukraine’s plans.
