Poisonous liquor has once again shown havoc in Bihar. It is being told that so far 19 people have died due to spurious liquor in Motihari district. People whose health deteriorated after drinking alcohol were admitted to the hospital. He himself told the doctors that he had consumed alcohol, after which his health deteriorated.

According to information, this case is of East Champaran, where people have died due to spurious liquor. After this incident, there was chaos in the area. The number of dead has increased. It is being told that 19 people have died so far. Bhuta Paswan, resident of Nariyarwa village of Turkaulia, Guddu Sahni, resident of Jaisinghpur and Heeralal Manjhi, resident of Mathlohiyar village of Harsiddhi have also died.

Motihari SP has taken cognizance of the spurious liquor case. The SP has suspended two ATF officers and four watchmen. One watchman each of Sugauli, Harsiddhi, Turkaulia and Paharpur has been suspended.

What is the rule of prohibition in Bihar? According to the amendment in the prohibition policy, the culprits caught drinking alcohol for the first time in Bihar will be released after paying a fine between Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000, not jail. If a first time offender fails to pay the fine, he will have to spend one month in jail.

If a person is caught consuming alcohol for the second time, he will be put behind bars for one year. So far, 3.8 lakh cases have been registered against the violators of prohibition. Out of these, only 4,000 cases have been disposed of.
