A powerful jet of boiling water that escaped from the floor of 5th Sovetskaya Street damaged the windows of a nearby house. This was reported in the press service of the administration of the central district of St. Petersburg.
A hot fountain pierced the asphalt on the evening of April 16. A column of water rose into the air to a height of three stories and hit the windows of the nearest house. The glasses could not withstand such pressure.
Fortunately, there were no casualties. Employees from the Ministry of Emergency Situations worked on the scene, pulling seven people from the spill area and evacuating six cars.
The faulty pipe was quickly closed and nearby buildings were transferred to an emergency hot water supply system. Earlier, The Eastern Herald in St. Petersburg reported that Teploset specialists will replace the damaged section of the pipe.
