Kabul. After the Taliban rule in Afghanistan, now China has started playing openly. China wants to take its CPEC project to Afghanistan. China is eyeing natural wealth worth billions of dollars found in Afghanistan. Valuable metals like lithium, gold, iron are found in it. Now China has started the move of ‘occupying’ it. China has offered the Taliban $10 billion to acquire lithium reserves. This offer from China has come when no country has yet given recognition to the Taliban government.

Chinese company Gochin has made this offer to Taliban’s Ministry of Mines. Gochin said that he is ready to invest $10 billion in Afghanistan. Taliban’s Minister of Mines and Petroleum Shahabuddin Delawar has met representatives of Gochin in Kabul. The Taliban ministry said that 1 lakh 20 thousand people will get direct and 10 lakh indirect jobs due to Chinese investment. Gochin said that as part of the investment, it will repair the Salang Pass in seven months.

China has not yet given recognition to Taliban Gochin said she would dig another tunnel. Apart from this, the lithium extracted from inside Afghanistan will be processed. After the Taliban came to power, China has expanded its economic ties with the terrorist group. Chinese companies are now proposing to invest in Afghanistan. In January 2023, the Xinjiang Central Asia Petroleum Gas Company signed a deal to extract oil from the Abu Darya Valley in northern Afghanistan. The entire deal was done for $540 million.

According to a Bloomberg report, Afghanistan has an estimated $1 trillion reserve of lithium. Chinese companies have been trying for a long time to get possession of this white gold of Afghanistan. Taliban government has not been recognized by any country in the world including China. China wants to fill the space left by America. It has also been said in many reports that China is also eyeing the vacated American bases in Afghanistan. China wants to increase the CPEC project between Afghanistan and Pakistan. With this, he will further strengthen his hold till Iran.
