Burbock urged talks between Chinese Foreign Minister Gan and US Secretary of State Blinken.
German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock called on her Chinese counterpart Qin Gang and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to meet soon and discuss the situation around Taiwan.
“In my opinion, it would be important for this meeting to take place as soon as possible. But we also have to make it clear that we will not accept if it is a military escalation,” Burbock told German broadcaster ZDF.
The German diplomat also added that during the meeting of foreign ministers of the G7 countries, the subject of relations between the United States and China was discussed.
Earlier, Blinken said he would only visit China when the right conditions are met.
