Putin attends Easter service at Christ the Savior Cathedral

Russian President Vladimir Putin attended the Easter service at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. The event was broadcast by the TV channel “Russia 24”, its fragments published telegram channel “LOOK”.

The service was led by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’. Telegram channel “VChK-OGPU” referring to eyewitnesses writing that the patriarch attended the ceremony “surrounded by an unprecedented number of bodyguards”. Last year, no such measures were taken, according to the VChK-OGPU.

Vladimir Putin traditionally attends the Easter service at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior almost every year. During his presidency, he only missed the ceremony twice – in 2003, when Putin was visiting Tajikistan, and again in 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
