Russian intelligence officers use dating sites to recruit German politicians, according to Die Welt. The perpetrators claim that the agents deliberately familiarize themselves with the military and politicians in order to extract state secrets from them, reports URA.RU.
“The dating platform is trying to attract people who are ready to love. This means: just swipe right on the screen of your mobile phone, where your dream partner is already waiting. Or the Russian special service, ”wrote the log.
According to journalists, agents have set love traps on these sites.
“They purposely searched for the profiles of Bundeswehr soldiers and politicians on a dating site in order to use them as sources of information,” the document states.
The Germans are so intimidated by the ubiquitous Russian agents in the Kremlin that they even warned against the “spies” of the military and politicians of a number of NATO countries who met at a conference in southern Germany.
