In the United States, the jackpot winner of the popular Mega Millions lottery has been determined. The super prize of $476 million fell on a ticket purchased in the New York borough of Queens, informed edition of the New York Post.
The lucky ticket was sold at the Liberty Beer & Convenience store in Ozone Park Mall.
“We’re very happy. We hope this isn’t the last winning ticket we’ve sold,” Deepak Parek, a store employee, told the New York Post.
The joy of the employees of a small store is understandable. Under the terms of the lottery, the merchant who sells the ticket that wins the jackpot receives a bonus of $10,000.
The raffle, during which the super prize was drawn, took place on Friday evening. The winning numbers of the draw were 23, 27, 41, 48 and 51 with an additional number 22. The winner, who has not yet appeared, guessed all 6 lottery numbers. After taxes, he is owed $253.1 million of his $476 million in earnings.
The publication notes that the Friday jackpot was the 13th biggest payout in US lottery history and the largest in New York history.
