Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

A new gamma therapy device was launched at the Oryol Oncology Center

The Oryol Oncological Dispensary received at its disposal a new gamma therapy device called “Bhabhatron-II”. This equipment is the result of joint production of India and Russia. This was reported by the Ministry of Health of the Orel region on the official VKontakte page.

The appearance of a new device in the compound of the oncology dispensary was implemented within the framework of the national project “Health” and the federal project “Fight against oncological diseases”. The cost of such equipment cost more than 80 million rubles.

An important feature of “Bhabhatron-II” is dot work. The device delimits the tumor and only irradiates it. An equally important component is also the “Cobalt 60” ionizing radiation source, which is produced entirely in the country. And this is the main aspect that produces this equipment regardless of external supplies.

So, the first model of the device in the country under the number 001, which left the walls of the Russian X-ray Technology Plant, has already begun to work in Orel. Last week, the oncology clinic completed the training of specialists who will work with the new equipment. Currently, the first patients are already receiving remote gamma ray therapy using this device.
