In the Nubian Metropolis building in Khartoum, 15 people are stranded, including a Russian woman with a child, Bishop of the Orthodox Church of Alexandria, Metropolitan of Nubia and All Sudan Savva told TV Greek public ERT.
- We are in the metropolis building, not in the church, because the church is a very high building, and it is dangerous to be there (because of the bombardments). There are 15 people of all ages here, Orthodox Greeks, Sudanese, Ethiopians and a Russian woman with a child – with a daughter, – quote the words of the Metropolitan RIA Novosti.
Savva informed that the metropolis had provisions for several days. He said those hospitalized after the bombing are in stable condition.
He added that it is now difficult to find a way out of the situation.
On April 13, Arab TV channels reported that the Sudanese Rapid Reaction Force (RRF) had deployed its units in the city of Meroe. The Sudanese army demanded that they leave. On April 15, clashes broke out between the RRF and the army in Sudan. Representatives of the regular army indicated that all government installations are controlled by the armed forces. The Head of State issued a decree dissolving the RRF.
