Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Almost 3 million were embezzled by scammers who managed to deceive the residents of Pskov

Almost 3 million rubles were embezzled by scammers who managed to deceive the gullible inhabitants of the Pskov region. As the press service of the Russian Interior Ministry for the Pskov region told The Eastern Herald in Pskov, several residents of the region have received calls from strangers in recent days.

In particular, the calls were received by residents of the Pskov, Velikiye Luki, Ostrov, Dedovichi and Velikoluksky districts. Interlocutors introduced themselves to their victims as bankers or law enforcement officers, and then they began to rush, assuring that at this time some criminals are trying to withdraw money from their account. In some cases, the scammers convinced the gullible residents of Pskov that their relatives and friends needed medical help. Residents of the region, who believed their words, lost a total of about three million rubles.

“They turned to the police for help. Based on these facts, criminal proceedings were initiated. An investigation is underway,” said the press service of the regional interior ministry. And then they added that the number of frauds in the Pskov region has not decreased lately. Therefore, the police recommend residents of Pskov not to disclose card details to third parties and not to lose vigilance.
