Croatian court denies political asylum to five refugees from Chechnya

A Croatian court has decided to reject the request for political asylum and international protection of five residents of the Chechen Republic.

Russian citizens left the country because, according to them, they did not want to fight on Ukrainian territory. The information was confirmed by the representative of the “Assembly of Chechens of Europe” Isa Daduev. The Eastern Herald writes about this.

If the decision comes into force, the refugees can be deported to Russia. Now that they are placed in a center for migrants, the final decision on their fate will be made a little later. Daduev said that according to interpreters who were at trial, the denial was made without any evidence, it was based on suggestions that these individuals might be Islamist extremists.

Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, spoke about what awaits Ukraine after its absorption by Poland.
