Over 1.8 million computer software copyrights to be registered in China by 2022

The China Copyright Protection Center released the “2022 National Computer Software Copyright Registration Analysis Report” on April 17th. According to the report, due to the optimization and improvement of copyright protection and innovation environment, the quality and quantity of software in China has increased all-round in the past 10 years, which has prompted many businesses and industries to take concrete steps on the road of innovation and development. promoted for.

In the year 2022, a total of 1.835 million computer software copyrights were registered in China, and the number of registrations remained above one million for five consecutive years. This has increased the total number of software registrations in China to 10 million in the last 10 years. There has been a 12-fold increase in the number of software applications registered annually as compared to 2012.

In 2022, the number of registrations of artificial intelligence and big data software in China will exceed 35,000, an increase of 32 times and 45 times, respectively, compared to the initial registration of the two types of software, both with an average annual growth rate of 50 percent , which is much higher than the overall software growth across all categories.

According to the report, a total of 1592 colleges and universities in China will register 102,546 software in 2022, which is 10 times the number registered in 2012. The average number of registrations per college and university increased from 16.4 to 64.4, a nearly threefold increase.
