Minnikhanov flew to Moldova to participate in the Congress of Friendship of Peoples in the city of Comrat. However, the friendliest meeting was not waiting for him at Chisinau airport – they simply did not let him off the plane. The leader of Tatarstan had to turn around and start again.

“Unfortunately, the Moldovan authorities have decided that we are undesirable citizens who cannot visit this country. Therefore, unfortunately, we will not be able to participate in the congress,” Minnikhanov said.
