the prosecutor’s office will check Danila Kozlovsky to “discredit” the Russian military

The Moscow prosecutor’s office will check actor Danila Kozlovsky under an administrative article on the “discrediting” of the Russian military (part 1 of article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences). On this subject writing TASS in reference to law enforcement.

The maximum penalty under this article involves a fine of up to 50,000 rubles for individuals.

At the beginning of April, with a corresponding request addressed to the Prosecutor General of Russia Igor Krasnov address Vitaly Borodin, head of the Federal Security and Anti-Corruption Project. This happened after the artist spoke out on his social networks against the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Borodin’s appeal also noted that Kozlovsky, in an interview with journalist Irina Shikhman*, allegedly called on citizens to attend rallies and also “expressed his admiration” for opposition politician Alexei Navalny. Borodin also claimed that after the outbreak of hostilities on Ukrainian territory, Kozlovsky left Russia for the United States, but returned to the country “in order to earn money again.”

At the same time, Borodin sent a letter to Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev with a request to verify the extremism of the artist (part 2 of article 280 of the Criminal Code), as well as prepared a request to regulatory authorities to check Kozlovsky for the presence of a second (American) nationality.

Danila Kozlovsky, in turn, wrote an article on the Telegram channel in which he said that he did not call Shikhman * for rallies in an interview, and the words mentioned in Borodin’s denunciation were spoken on the filming of a series on the revolution.

The artist also assured that he did not leave Russia for a long time, but only periodically visited the United States, where his child lives. Responding to Borodin’s suggestion to return to Russia to work, Kozlovsky explained that he had never had any income other than Russian. According to the actor, he does not have a second nationality, “especially American”.

As noted by Kozlovsky, together with his lawyers, he prepared statements to the authorities with a request for verification of the actions of Borodin and the Federal Security and Anti-Corruption Project.
