Islamabad: Pakistan National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf has warned the Supreme Court against intrusion into the territory of Parliament, saying others will also try to enter your domain. According to reports, in an interview with an American media outlet, Ashraf said that they (higher judiciary) should handle their work. Ashraf said that the farce of elections should end if the Parliament has to exercise its legislative authority as per the wishes of the Supreme Court or the High Court.

Citing the apex court’s judgment that stopped the implementation of the bill curtailing the powers of the Chief Justice even before it became law, he said, “How can you come under the purview of the elected representatives of the people?” Now that you have come, others will also try to enter your jurisdiction. ”According to the report, he said that while the apex court should hear all the parties, the government should also avoid harshness, political Matters should never be taken to court as it not only harms politics but also weakens the judiciary.

He said, “Division is necessary in politics, but division in the Supreme Court is dangerous.” Regarding the Army Chief’s address to the closed-door session on national security, Ashraf said that General Asim Munir’s words and the clarity of his thoughts were very reassuring.

The Speaker said that the manner in which the Army Chief expressed his commitment to the Constitution and faith in the supremacy of Parliament was encouraging. He said that the country needs such ideas. Asked about the possibility of any new anti-terrorist operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or Balochistan, the speaker said that there is no new operation, but law enforcers are already taking action against miscreants.
