The XXX IS Bach International Music Festival

Classical music lovers will enjoy famous works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Louis-Claude Daquin, César Franck, Louis Vierne and many more.

On April 21, the Tver Academic Philharmonic Orchestra will host the grand opening of the XXX International JS Bach Festival “Bach and the Classics of the World”.

Holding the festival is important not only for the development of cultural life in the region, but also for attracting guests to the Tver region, Governor Igor Rudenya believes. Every year, this event attracts classical music lovers from different regions of the country and abroad to Tver.

The great works of Bach and the masters of the French organ school of the 17th-20th centuries will be performed at the opening of the festival by Honored Artist of Russia, organist Lyudmila Golub. In addition, there will be a lecture by the famous musicologist Artem Vargaftik, who will talk about Notre Dame de Paris and the fate of French music.

On the second day of the festival, the Philharmonic will host the concert “Young talents of the Tver territory”, where scholarship recipients of the governor of the Tver region will perform.

The closing ceremony of the XXX International JS Bach Festival “Bach and World Classics” will take place on April 27. On the final day, a Moscow State Conservatory graduate named after PI Tchaikovsky, organist Vladimir Korolevskiy will perform the German composer’s most famous works, including sonatas and preludes.

Tver IS Bach Music Festival is one of the most famous and vibrant annual music forums in Russia, a member of the European Festival Association. It was first held at the Tver Academic Philharmonic in 1993. During its years of existence, the forum has hosted on its stage outstanding contemporary soloists, leading orchestras and choirs from Russia and the foreign.
