Within the framework of the 54th extraordinary meeting of the Legislative Assembly of the Rostov region, the deputies adopted the first amendments to the regional budget for 2023, and also presented plans for the distribution of the budget for 2024 and 2025. The changes provide for a significant increase in costs, mainly in socially important areas and infrastructure.
The biggest spending this year will go to modernizing the Don region’s transport system. More than three billion rubles will be allocated from the federal budget for these. In particular, in the Rostov region, 40 electric buses and 14 charging stations will be purchased with part of these funds.
According to the speaker of the Don parliament, Alexander Ishchenko, major cities of the Rostov region are working on a gradual transition of public transport to its ecological types. The purchase of new electric buses will help create a full-fledged infrastructure for serving electric transport in major cities of the Rostov region. Of the 40 electric buses, half will be delivered to Rostov-on-Don, the rest will be distributed equally to Taganrog and Volgodonsk.
- In addition to the purchase of the electric buses themselves, 14 charging stations will be purchased this year. They will contribute to the development of an environmentally friendly mode of transport, – added Alexander Ishchenko. – There are also plans to significantly modernize the existing bus fleet of Rostov-on-Don and to purchase more environmentally friendly buses in terms of fuel waste generation. This work will continue in the future.
Public treasury funds will also be allocated to health care. In particular, 212 million rubles from the federal budget will be spent on re-equipping medical organizations for cancer patients. The speaker of the Don parliament stressed that thanks to the financial support, residents of the Rostov region suffering from cancer will be able to get additional treatment options.
Another hundred million will be allocated to complete the overhaul of medical facilities in the Azov, Konstantinovsky and Remontnensky districts, as well as to equip the Children’s Polyclinic of the Railway District and Polyclinic No. 41 in Rostov-on-Don .
The summer wellness campaign is approaching. In this regard, 102 million rubles were allocated from the budget of the Russian Federation for the construction of five buildings in children’s recreation camps.
“It is important that our children’s camps have the opportunity to receive children in comfortable conditions,” added Alexander Ishchenko.
Funds from the federal budget are also provided for the repair and construction of roads where there are significant problems with the road network. In particular, the road fund of the Rostov region has increased by more than two billion rubles. Taking into account the amendments adopted, in 2023, it is already nearly 40 billion. At the same time, if necessary, additional funds can be allocated for the repair of roads.
The total budget expenditure of the Rostov region increased by 26.2 billion rubles (to 319.3), income – by 5.1 billion rubles (to 279.7), and the deficit – by 21 billion rubles (up to 39.6).
