Europeans managed to get through the last heating season thanks to the warm weather. This was stated in the press service of Gazprom.
“The warm weather in winter helped a lot to get through the heating season in Europe. But there is no guarantee that nature will give such a gift during the next heating season, ”says the company’s Telegram channel.
Gazprom, citing data from Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE), said that as of April 6, the occupancy level of European underground gas storage facilities had fallen to 55% and stood at 55.4 billion meters cubes. Comparing the volumes of active gas in UGS installations in Europe on the same date in 2020, Gazprom specialists noted that Europe already needs to replenish its reserves by 1.4 billion cubic meters for the maximum level of injection . It will not be easy to do so under the current realities of refusing to import Russian fuel, the company assured.
Earlier it became known that German insurance companies Allianz and Munich Re had taken over the insurance from Nord Stream. Operation of the pipeline was halted in September after sabotage. The insurance policy covers damage to infrastructure. Thanks to the insurance, the process of repair work will also be simplified.
