Baghdad: Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani called for resolving international disputes through dialogue, while emphasizing on increasing cooperation with Ukraine. Al-Sudani made the remarks during a meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba in the Iraqi capital Baghdad, citing a statement released by the media office of the Iraqi prime minister, a news agency reported.
The two sides discussed ways to enhance trade and economic exchanges between Iraq and Ukraine. The statement said al-Sudani reiterated Iraq’s stance on rejecting wars and holding talks in solving international and regional problems and disputes.
In response Kuleba emphasized his country’s willingness to cooperate with Iraq and appreciated the important role played by the Ukrainian government in supporting Iraq’s international stability efforts and peace initiatives. Earlier on Monday, the official Iraqi news agency reported that Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein called for a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine during a press conference with Kuleba, noting that the Iraq solution regarding the Russia-Ukraine conflict wants to be a part of.
