Islamabad: The head of Pakistan’s diplomatic mission in Afghanistan returned to Kabul on Monday. He was called back to his homeland after a deadly attack in the capital of Afghanistan about four months ago. According to reports, Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch has confirmed that Pakistan’s chief of mission Ubaid-ur-Rehman Nizamani has returned to Kabul. However, he has not given more information than this. Earlier, Nizmani went to Afghanistan after a phone conversation between Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhatto-Zardari and Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister Aamir Khan Muttaki. The development comes ahead of Muttaki’s visit to Islamabad next month.

Quoting sources, the news said that the decision to send the Pakistani envoy back was taken during a phone conversation. Nijmani was walking in the Pakistani embassy compound on December 2 when a shooter fired at him from a nearby multi-storey building. Gave. He narrowly escaped the attack but his Pakistani security guard was hit by bullets in his leg.

After this, Pakistan immediately called back its senior diplomat and demanded the Taliban to increase the security of its embassy. Sources said Zardari extended a formal invitation to his Afghan counterpart during a telephonic conversation. There is no official confirmation but sources said Muttaki may visit Islamabad in the first week of May.
