This year, Russia will not hold the traditional annual procession as part of the All-Russian action “Immortal Regiment”. This decision was taken by the eponymous headquarters of the action.
One of the reasons is called security considerations. Thus, several regions of Russia have already refused to organize all these events. This is reported by TASS with reference to State Duma Deputy Elena Tsunaeva.
“It is still one indivisible story, the procession of the Immortal Regiment, if somewhere people do not have such an opportunity, let’s use other options,” said Elena Tsunaeva, co-chair of the movement.
This year, the event will be held exclusively online. Everyone is invited to post photos of their close veterans on social networks, on clothes, on a car and on the movement’s website.
Earlier, the MP for Kaliningrad reported that the Kaliningrad authorities decided not to cancel the festive Victory Day parade on May 9, 2023. The Victory Parade will take place in the city, as well as the traditional bonfire of festive artifice.
