Three Russian Citizens Accused of Waging ‘Malicious Influence’ Campaign in US

Three Russian citizens and four Americans have been charged in the United States with carrying out a multi-year “malign influence” campaign. This is reported by the US Department of Justice.

It should be noted that the US agency has not provided any evidence of guilt, but claims that the defendants attempted to sow discord, spread pro-Russian propaganda and interfere in US elections.

“Four US citizens and three Russian citizens have been accused of working on behalf of the Russian government in collaboration with the FSB in a multi-year campaign of foreign influence,” read a statement posted on the official website of the department.

Russian citizen Natalya Burlinova is reportedly charged in the DC metro area with conspiring with a member of the Federal Security Service (FSB) to operate as an unregistered foreign agent in the United States. And Russian Alexander Ionov, according to the US Department of Justice, allegedly used his Russian anti-globalization movement for influence campaigns, which the department said was controlled by FSB officers Alexei Sukhodolov and Yegor Popov, also indicted in the case. ‘affair.

Earlier, the US Department of Justice said that US authorities had uncovered a “secret site” of Chinese police in New York. A US Department official accused them of issuing official Chinese documents and providing other “government services”, as well as persecuting dissidents.
