With the Letzte generation blocking the street again just hours after the sentencing, the three activists of the last generation will now have to go to prison for several months. The Heilbronn District Court sentenced two men and a woman to prison terms of five, four and three months, respectively. No parole.
According to prosecutors and activists, this sentence is the harshest ever handed down to members of the Letzte generation in Germany. Another defendant was sentenced to three months probation. The verdict has not yet entered into force.
The court found evidence that in early March, three men and a woman blocked Federal Route 27 in Heilbronn in protest. Three of the four defendants had already been sentenced to fines and short prison terms for blocking another road on the morning of the rally in question. Only hours after the verdict was delivered, they again took to the streets.
According to the police, two of the defendants tried to stick to the sidewalk. When that failed, they stuck to each other.
