Kim Jong Un said North Korea would launch a military spy satellite as planned, Yonhap News Agency reported.

Earlier, in a report to the DPRK party plenum, the head of state ordered to complete the creation of the first reconnaissance satellite and launcher in the near future and launch them.

“The State Space Exploration Administration should carry out flawless work on the construction of a reconnaissance satellite and a launch vehicle, proceed to the final stage, and launch the DPRK’s first military satellite into near future,” local media reported.

The “regional leader” previously said the United States and its allies must urgently halt provocative military exercises near the DPRK’s borders. The parties should resume dialogue, Chinese UN envoy Zhang Jun told reporters.
