Oktyabrsk schoolchildren turned into pilgrims for a day

For students of classes 1, 2 and 5 of October School No. 3, they arranged a meeting with Archpriest Leonid Korkodinov of the Diocese of Syzran in the village of Usolye. The clergyman told the children about the temples that were built on the territory of Usolye throughout history, the publication “Little Syzran” reports.

Schoolchildren were introduced to the decoration and shrines of the recently built wooden church in Usolye. The children especially enjoyed the crafts of the students from the parochial Sunday school at the fair. Also on the fifth floor of the bell tower, the October schoolchildren visited the puppet room, where they learned about the performances in progress.

The excursion for the students was organized on the Monday of Bright Week. Spiritual enlightenment touched not only children, but was interesting for teachers and parents of students.

Earlier, church singer Isaeva told how Easter cakes and eggs became symbols of Easter. According to her, with the advent of Christianity in Russia, ordinary bread began to be called Easter cake due to its similarity in shape to the church.
