The case became all the more publicized due to the deathly silence of law enforcement until the very moment the criminal was arrested. Instead of declaring the maniac on an open wanted list, the true situation was stubbornly hidden from reporters and the public. This has given rise to many rumors and a real panic on the Internet. Subsequently, the management of the Karelian Sledkom had to find excuses for the actions of their colleagues.
