PM Shehbaz Sharif will be disqualified for contempt: Imran Khan

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has said that earlier Yousuf Raza Gilani was disqualified for contempt of court and now outgoing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also meet the same fate. According to reports, in a meeting with PTI leader Chaudhary Parvez Elahi, Khan said that Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa would file a petition in the Supreme Court on behalf of the chief ministers. The PTI chief said that the government is setting a wrong precedent by ignoring the court’s decision.

Elahi said that ‘every unconstitutional tactic is being used to stop the election. Incompetent rulers will have to answer for this.” The current political situation in Punjab and elections were discussed in detail in the meeting. Elahi said that according to the order of the Supreme Court, money should be allocated to the Election Commission in any case so that elections can be conducted.

He said that ‘Shahbaz Sharif is guilty of contempt of court and now the verdict is awaited. Everyone has to follow the constitution and law for the stability and security of democracy. ”Elahi said that the supply of free flour is the biggest scam in the history of the country. “Smuggling of flour, sugar and fertilizers has increased during the tenure of caretaker Punjab government and unelected public representatives are causing suspension of public welfare projects.”
