In continuation of the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its peace initiative in Yemen, which it announced in 2021 AD, and was approved by the Yemeni government, and in continuation of it to build on the positive atmosphere of the current humanitarian truce since its entry into force on April 2, 2022 AD, the Saudi team to communicate with the Yemeni parties, headed by Ambassador Khadem, held The Two Holy Mosques in Yemen, Muhammad Al Jaber, on Sunday 25 Ramadan 1444 AH corresponding to April 16, 2023 CE; Meeting with His Excellency the President of the Presidential Leadership Council of the Republic of Yemen, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi.
Ambassador Muhammad Al Jaber conveyed to His Excellency Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi the greetings of the wise leadership and its wishes that the existing contacts with all Yemeni parties would culminate in reviving the political process, leading to the achievement of a comprehensive and sustainable solution in Yemen.
During the meeting, the President and members of the Presidential Leadership Council were briefed on the results of the meetings in Sana’a between 17 and 22 Ramadan 1444 AH, corresponding to 8 to 13 April 2023 AD, with the participation of a delegation from the sisterly Sultanate of Oman and the positive atmosphere that accompanied it.
His Excellency the President of the Presidential Leadership Council and the members of the Council valued the Saudi and Omani efforts, praising the keenness on the importance of taking the necessary humanitarian steps to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people in all Yemeni governorates, including the payment of salaries, an increase in the number of flights through Sana’a International Airport, the opening of Taiz roads and other roads, and a cease-fire. Fire, reviving the political process, and reaching a comprehensive and sustainable political solution in Yemen, in accordance with the terms of reference agreed upon nationally and internationally and under the supervision of the United Nations.
