Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

In China, part of the rock was destroyed due to popularity with tourists Fox News

The South China Morning Post informs about non-standard measures to deal with violators.

  • Lots of people climbing the rock to take pictures. It’s too dangerous! So we smashed it, fearing accidents would happen there,” an unnamed official said.

The destroyed ledge has gained notoriety on Chinese social media as the “Test of Courage Rock”. On the Internet, you can easily find a walking route to a scenic spot, but authorities warn that this is not a tourist area at all. Last year, a sign was erected in front of the rock prohibiting thrill seekers from climbing the ledge.

However, in pursuit of the “epic” plan, the tourists did not heed the warning and continued to lay on the rock, which in the meantime was gradually collapsing.
– There are cracks in the stone. It is forbidden to approach it. You yourself will be responsible for the consequences, – it was written on the sign, which the offenders ignored.

It is noteworthy that the destroyed part of the rock on the Net was called the Chinese version of the stone ledge called “Troll’s Tongue” in Norway. According to some travel bloggers, the Chinese natural monument is much thinner and less durable than its Scandinavian counterpart.

The dismantling of the stone ledge sparked heated discussion on Chinese social media. Some users accused the authorities of destroying the old formation and felt it would be wiser to erect a fence to control restless tourists. However, others are convinced that the fence could not stop the extreme shooting fans, so the “security threat” was rightly “removed”.
