The Verdi union has called for a warning strike in the areas of air security, passenger screening, personnel and goods and services. It started Wednesday night to Thursday and will end Friday to Saturday night. All air traffic will be blocked.
<p class=””>In this regard, on the evening of Wednesday, April 19, airport operators advised passengers to check with their airline or travel agency about their flight status before arriving at the airport.
The strikes were triggered by negotiations between the Verdi union and the Federal Association of Aviation Safety Companies (BDLS) to increase pay for night work, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, as well as an increase in the wage rate for overtime for airport security and commercial services.
The union pointed out that the written proposal of the business association was not sufficient, so that it was not possible to resolve the labor dispute. Negotiations are expected to continue on April 27-28.
