In Sevastopol, on April 19, the verdict was announced to Ismail Dzangiev in the case of attempted murder and violation of statutory relations – the man was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
According to Kommersant, Dzangiev has partially admitted his guilt, but plans to appeal the verdict. His defense claims that at the time of the crime he was in a state of anger caused by the death of his brother.
Last March, a group of soldiers, including Dzangiev’s brother, came under fire. According to the publication, the accused was convinced that the death of his loved one was the result of an order error. Moreover, the deputy commander refused to transfer Dzangiev Jr. to the higher department. All these circumstances prompted the convict to take up arms and shoot the deputy commander in the head, whom he managed to save.
In addition to a 10-year prison sentence, the court also ordered Dzangiev to pay the victim 400,000 rubles.
