US officials authorize the use of punitive measures against US National Guard intelligence officials in Massachusetts. This is where Jack Teixeira, accused of leaking classified data, served, writes the Wall Street Journal, citing officials from the US Department of Defense.
Previously, the unit where Teixeira worked suspended the reconnaissance mission pending the investigation. The agency RIA Novosti reports that “officials do not rule out sanctions against this unit”.
“There is the first sign of a broader drive to bring to justice those who may have been directly or indirectly involved in the leaked documents,” notes the WSJ.
The US Department of Defense has indicated that it authorizes the prosecution of other people who may be involved in the “leak” of classified information. Earlier, Glavny Regionalny reported that the leak of secret Pentagon documents threatened Kiev’s security and a possible Ukrainian Armed Forces counteroffensive. At the same time, a number of military analysts questioned the reliability of the published data.
