IPL 2023: KL Rahul broke the rules during the match, fined Rs 12 lakh

Lucknow Supergiants captain KL Rahul has been fined Rs 12 lakh for slow over-rate during their Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Rajasthan Royals here.

Lucknow won by 10 runs in this match played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Wednesday night.

“This is the team’s first offense under the IPL Code of Conduct relating to slow over-rate in the current season and therefore captain Rahul has been fined Rs 12 lakh,” the IPL said in a statement.

The IPL aims to finish matches in three hours and 20 minutes but slow over-rates are becoming an issue with matches stretching into over four hours.
