Sheikh Azzam Al-Khatib, Director General of the Islamic Endowments Department in occupied Jerusalem, said that more than 4 million Palestinians prayed at Al-Aqsa Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan, despite the restrictions imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities. However, thousands of young men were able to bypass the occupation checkpoints to reach the mosque, especially in the last ten days of Ramadan, when they perform i’tikaaf in the mosque. The occupation police stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque several times during the second third of Ramadan, beating worshipers, and arrested more than 450 of them in less than two hours, and more than 3,000 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque in the blessed month.
