The American RHESSI satellite, which is due to fall to Earth on April 20, is still in orbit, reports of its fall in Kiev are incorrect. This was reported to RIA Novosti by NASA.
Earlier, Kiev authorities explained the bright flash over the city with the downing of a NASA satellite, and the airstrike in the city with a warning of human casualties from the wreckage.
“Currently (satellite. – Approx. ed.) remains in orbit,” – said the source of the agency.
He added that NASA was working with the Pentagon on this issue. The spacecraft is expected to enter Earth’s atmosphere around 8:50 p.m. ET on April 19 (03:50 a.m. Moscow time on April 20). NASA added that the risk of harm to anyone on Earth is low.
