Prime Minister Mishustin arrived at the Smolensk Aircraft Plant

Thursday, April 20, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin arrived in Smolensk for a working visit. After inspecting the clinical emergency hospital, the head of the Cabinet moved to the territory of the Smolensk Aviation Plant (SMAZ).

During the visit to the company, the Prime Minister will get acquainted with the work of the machine shop and the assembly shop. Mikhail Mishustin will also meet with the acting head of the region Vasily Anokhin.

Earlier it was reported that the aircraft factory is preparing to increase the volume of products produced under the state defense order. Contracts with the Ministry of Defense have been concluded until 2025. By 2024, the volume of shipped products is expected to quadruple: from 6 billion to 24 billion rubles. To do this, it is planned to double the number of employees – up to 4.3 thousand people.
