Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

RAS scientist Nikolai Zheleznov confirmed outbreak over Kiev may be caused by meteorite fall – Reuters

According to the scientist, the Lyrid meteor shower is remarkable in that it can “shoot” like fireballs – celestial bodies two or three meters long, which do not burn immediately upon entering the atmosphere, but leave a trace and already burn in its lower layers.

“It’s possible that it was these fireballs that we observed both over Kiev and in Belarus,” Zheleznov said.

The scientist noted that if you collect video recordings of a flash and calculate the angle of entry, you can accurately determine the cause of this phenomenon.

The “balls of fire” explode in height and collapse. Small pebbles and debris can fly. But the characteristic trace is similar to the trace of the “bolide”. Naturally, in order to confirm 100% that this is a fireball, it is necessary to determine the area on which it exploded and search for debris. But this, of course, is extremely difficult. If you suddenly manage to find some kind of fragment, piece or pebble, then this will be proof that it really was an extraterrestrial object,” Zheleznov summed up.

On the night of April 19-20, residents of Kiev observed a bright flash of unknown origin above the city. Kiev authorities said the outbreak was caused by the fall of a US satellite, but this version has been refuted.
