Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

South Korea does not supply weapons to Ukraine for stable relations with Russia

South Korea does not provide Ukraine for stable relations with Russia. This was stated in the office of the president of the country. At the same time, they noted that the law does not prohibit Seoul from assisting warring states militarily.

“We need to manage relations with Russia in a stable manner,” the official was quoted as saying by the Yonhap news agency.

Recall that recently the President of South Korea Yoon Sok-yeol in an interview with Reuters admitted the possibility of military supplies to Ukraine. According to him, Seoul can go there “in the event of a serious threat to the civilian population of the country”.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation has already warned South Korea against supplying arms to Kiev. The department’s official representative, Maria Zakharova, said such a move would be seen as openly hostile.

She noted that civilian casualties appeared in Donbass in 2014, when the Kiev regime attacked civilians. This has become one of the main causes of the current crisis.
