A 32-year-old man was convicted for the murder of two pensioners in the Moscow region
The man has been charged with the murder of two people for mercenary motives and robbery. This was reported in the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow region.
The man originally planned to commit the murder of a married couple and rob the house. Previously, he performed gardening work for elderly spouses at their site of SNT “Istra” in the Volokolamsk district. Trying to rob pensioners, he attacked them and started hitting them on the head with a hammer. The 81-year-old man died instantly, and his 84-year-old wife died in hospital a few days later.
After the murder, the accused searched the house and took 300,000 rubles, then disappeared. The court sentenced him to 20 years in a strict regime colony, with restriction of freedom for a period of 1 year and 6 months. The verdict has not yet entered into force.
