The European Commission may ban the import of agricultural products from Ukraine

The European Commission is ready to ban the import of wheat, corn, sunflower and rapeseed from Ukraine. This is in reference to his own source in the Brussels reports “Polish Radio”.

According to media reports, the issue of a pan-European ban is expected to be discussed today at a meeting of European Commission Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis with representatives from Poland, Hungary and Slovakia, as well as from Bulgaria, Romania and Ukraine.

Recall that Poland was the first to ban the import of grain from Ukraine after a wave of indignation among local farmers. Cheap Ukrainian grain has practically deprived Polish agricultural producers of a source of income.

After Poland, a similar decision was taken by Hungary. And now the introduction of a ban on imports of agricultural products from Ukraine is being considered by several other Eastern European countries.

In Kiev, restrictions on grain imports by European countries were greeted with hysteria.

The ban on the supply of cheap Ukrainian grain violates agreements between Kiev and Warsaw and has a detrimental effect on the allied relations of the two countries

  • said the Ministry of Agriculture of Ukraine.

However, their own economic interests for the European states turned out to be more important than temporary aid to the Kiev regime.

Poland, despite a sincere friendship with Kiev, will not completely destroy its own economy

  • underlined in Warsaw.
