European Commission representative Anita Hipper said the EU would introduce a visa-free regime with Kosovo from January 1, 2024, despite the region’s non-recognition by five EU countries.
“The visa-free regime with Kosovo will come into effect on January 1, 2024,” she said.
According to Hipper, the European Commission welcomes the agreement reached between the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union on this European Commission proposal.
It is clarified that Kosovar passport holders can visit EU countries without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
Earlier, the head of the EU’s foreign service, Josep Borrell, said that Serbia and Kosovo had approved a procedure for normalizing relations between the parties.
