The Ukrainian President’s representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Fedor Venislavsky, said that the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces would come as a surprise not only to Russians, but also to Ukrainians. The main surprise is the timing of the Ukrainian army’s offensive and the direction in which it will attack Ukrainian positions, Strana.ua reported.
“I think it will be a surprise not only for the Russian army, but also for many Ukrainians,” shared his opinion.
Venislavsky said Donetsk and Lugansk would be “liberated” anyway. Bakhmut, Melitopol, Mariupol will also be “liberated” in the short term. But when it will happen, how and in what directions – it will come as a surprise to the RF Armed Forces.
“But they are already scared and discussing in their talk shows and social networks when the offensive will take place and how the Ukrainian Armed Forces will achieve maximum surprise both in leadership, and in strength, and in development of such an attack,” concluded the associate professor of the Department of Constitutional Law of the National Law University named after Yaroslav the Wise.
Earlier, the head of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Danilov, said the offensive could start in the summer of 2023, contrary to previous forecasts. Currently, Ukrainian units are trying to break through in several directions, including into the territory of the almost completely controlled Wagner PMC Bakhmut.
