The State Duma has passed a law on veteran status for Donbass defenders since 2014

Russia’s State Duma has passed a draft law on veteran status for Donbass defenders since 2014.

“We are talking about people who, by the decision of the state authorities of the DPR and the LPR, from May 12, 2014, took part in hostilities as part of the armed forces, military formations and corps of the republics of Donetsk and Lugansk,” the statement on the State Duma website said.

The law is expected to come into force on the date of publication.

Earlier, the State Duma passed a law equating residents of besieged Stalingrad with veterans of the Great Patriotic War. They will be entitled to the simultaneous collection of two pensions, monthly payments, as well as other social support measures.
